What is the 120 Prayer Team?
The 120 Prayer Team is a group of people who have committed to praying regularly for Cornerstone. We are trusting God, first and foremost, with every detail of this church's ministry. Our goal is to submit these details to the Lord, consistently and persistently, praying for His will and His shaping of our hearts so that we can love God, love others, and serve our city and beyond. This includes praying regularly for our pastors, leaders, staff, specific ministries, and God's vision for Cornerstone.
Each member of the team receives a daily 120 Prayer Team Devotional by email at 4:00 a.m. CDT, Monday through Friday. Although the primary focus of the devotional is to encourage your prayers for Cornerstone, many of the devotionals also encourage a Gospel-centered approach to daily Christian living.

Why the name "120 Prayer Team"?
The number "120" comes from Acts 1:14-26. This passage describes the events that took place during the 10 days between Jesus' Ascension into Heaven and Pentecost. Verses 14-16 read:
"All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. In those days Peter stood among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said, 'Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.'"
In Max Lucado's Before Amen: The Power Of A Simple Prayer, he shares a story about the start of Oak Hills Church near San Antonio. Max asked a pastor friend, John Maxwell, for his advice on how best to start the new church, and John advised him to find 120 people from among his flock who would dedicate themselves to praying each day for the very things we are praying for at Cornerstone.
