Ashleigh wants children to feel loved, think creatively and learn through exploration.
Ashleigh has worked with children in a variety of ways throughout the course of her life. After serving as a soccer coach and camp counselor for ROAR Sports in South Carolina for three years, Ashleigh became the Jr. ROAR Sports Camp Coordinator designing and facilitating a Bible-based sports camp for kids ages three through six.
Ashleigh graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduating, Ashleigh taught fourth grade at an International Baccalaureate School in South Carolina and then moved to Florida where she taught fourth and fifth grade for two years in a magnet school for gifted studies.
In November of 2020, Ashleigh was diagnosed with a rare heart and lung disease called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and subsequently had to resign from teaching in the classroom. She moved to Kansas City in the fall of 2021 to be closer to family and has since felt called to ministry.
Ashleigh serves as the Children’s Ministry Director overseeing the various programs and community outreach events for families and children. She is most passionate about helping children feel loved, to think critically and creatively, and empowering children to take charge of their own learning through inquiry and exploration.
In her free time, Ashleigh enjoys being outside, attending sporting events, reading, and painting. Her favorite Bible verses are Psalm 94:17-19, Isaiah 41:13 and Zephaniah 3:17.
